Meet OddBird!

OddBird Art & Craft Fair operates in Amiskwaciwâskahikan ᐊᒥᐢᑲᐧᒋᐋᐧᐢᑲᐦᐃᑲᐣ on Treaty Six Territory: the ancestral and traditional territory of the Cree, Métis, Dene, Blackfoot, Saulteaux, and Nakota Sioux. We express gratitude and respect for the land that we use, and for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders.
OddBird Art & Craft Fair was founded in 2024 by Edmonton-area artists and craft fair organizers.
OddBird supports birds of all feathers, and will work to foster a welcoming and supportive environment for the vendor community.
About the flock
-
Genevieve Ongaro (She/Her)
Genevieve is a graphic designer in Edmonton who is addicted to making ceramics. Her OddBird role is social media social butterfly who will also check in and say hi in the flesh, and resident craftiness specialist (looking at you, lawn display). Genevieve dreams of off-grid homesteading surrounded by creatures with a studio on site.
What makes Genevieve an OddBird: She had a chicken named Gina who saved herself from slaughter by laying her first egg on execution day.
-
Nico Humby (He/Him)
Nico is a multidisciplinary designer based in Edmonton. You can catch him at OddBird as a future up-and-coming Tik Tok star, keeping morale high by crackin’ jokes, and lending a friendly helping hand. Nico is the beer and coffee vendor specialist (read: sampler) and outside of the fair he’s a devoted Bluegrass musician and pizza slinger.
What makes Nico an OddBird: He once owned a Cockatiel named after Norman Bates.
-
Stephanie Simpson (She/Her)
Stephanie is a freelance illustrator from Edmonton known at OddBird for her mean (but actually very nice) spreadsheets. When she’s not making sure emails are peppered with exclamation points, she is working on table layout, talking too much in meetings, and adding formulas where they may or may not be needed. Stephanie is an avid dabbler, a bird enthusiast, and bestie to her russet-coloured pup, Rosie.
What makes Stephanie an OddBird: She’s a certified pigeon wrangler (true story).
-
Tracy Niven (They/Them)
Tracy is an Edmonton-based graphic designer and art director by day; wannabe cowboi by night; dog and cat dad at all times. At OddBird, they make sure “visuals are vibin” (outside of fair phraseology, this is known as branding and design).
What makes Tracy an OddBird: Contemplating the way pigeons were bred to be pets but then abandoned (and maligned) is their new Roman Empire.
-
Zeph Mitchell (He/Him)
Zeph is an Edmonton based multidisciplinary artist and photographer focused on socials and administrative work at OddBird. He is always whistling while he undertakes fair-related grunt work (set-up, take-down, and postering is hard work!). Zeph is also a yoga teacher and a plant, dog, and cat papa.
What makes Zeph an OddBird: He once tripped over a Magpie that was snacking on a large McDonald’s fry and fell into the arms of his Prince Charming.
